Creation: An original product of human invention or artistic imagination
Destruction: The termination of something by causing so much damage to it that it cannot be repaired or no longer exists
Evolution: gradual process in which something changes into a different and usually more complex or better form
A quick one to show my new creation, the "unfinished" neckwarmer. It's basically made of three flat tubes that are crocheted/ sewn together in four different places. Because of the space between the four chains, the tubes kindda layer by themselves.
I just came back from NYC a few hours ago. I've been awake for almost 24 hours, but I'm really hyper right now. It was a bit hectic over there, during fashion week and all, but I got to meet some really nice and interesting people. One of them being Peter. He contacted me some time ago to work with him on the collection he will be launching, LEON. It's a really interesting project; menswear for women, which inspires me a lot, and is kindda part of my personal style. So, we finally got the chance to meet up and hang out, and I can definitely say I believe in this project; Peter is a really talented designer with good taste and ideas, but also with a head on his shoulders.
Peter brought me to the Boutique IF, where I got this beautiful Ann Demeulemeester asymmetrical dress shirt. I love it so much, I'll try to post a picture sometime. A few days ago, I was reading about Ann D, she was saying "Good fashion for me is like rock'n'roll - there's always a little rebellion in it". I think it's something that you can really "sense" through her pieces, something romantic, but "rough" at the same time, a good balance. And of course, there's Patti Smith, her friend and one of my biggest inspiration. I find there's something so true coming from both of these women; something feminine, really strong, rock'n'roll/ punk, but sensitive.
I've already wrote about being inspired by dark beautiful things. I see life as a whole thing; life and death, love and hate, hope and despair, all together, so different, so similar, forming only one. That way, anything can inspire you anything, because in the end, it's all related. Trying hard to find inspiration doesn't work, and thinking too much to try to give a logic is boring. The great thing that should come out of inspiration is unicity; the links that are instinctly made in your head, heart, soul, without any self control. I think we have some kind of essence inside and we have to work with it to create our own genuine beauty.
I have been a little lazy on the creation side lately, although I've come up with some ideas for new designs, so I just thought I would share with you some sets I made with polyvore, some inpirations I got...
