destroyed black roses

I've been in romantic mood lately. And watching a lot of movies from the 20's. I really like that era because of women' attitude and fashion. With those masculine silouhettes and short hair, women would start doing more activities that were before only for men. But they would still look really feminine with their dark make-up, accessories (pearls, feathers, furs, roses, sequin, etc)

That picture from the flapper era made me want to bring back roses as an accessory. But not in a plastic, cheap or kitsch way. Something more modern, dark and feminine. I like thinking that beauty isn't perfection, but is made of those little things, small defects, characteristics that make one special, unique. That's why I wanted to give that "destroyed" touch to the roses. I'm working on different projects that would involve them, or something similar.

ascending hood

my recent project; a hood/ scarf. it's one of the piece i've made that i love the most ^^
The hood is about 12" / 12" so oversized

The scarf part on one side is 27" long and going from 5" to 1" large and on the other side it's 62" long and 9" large all the way

I'll get better pictures this week that show all the piece!

l'eau

my friend inspired me to make this beanie, i still have to work on the lining.
but here's the almost final result.
the black part is 100% lamb wool, and the heather grey one is 100% wool.
the fit is tight enough on the head, but still long and slouchy at the end...
i'll post fit pics once it will be totally finished :)

comfy and slouchy

I've made this slouchy beanie yesterday, it's oversized and really thick. It almost fits like a beret.
Thick knit, loose gauge.
I used two strings of yarn, 50% alpaca and 50% wool, so really warm and comfy!

i've been knitting a lot lately and didn't even think about making something to myself. so here's a beanie to keep my head warm. i like the constant spirals that give that shell effect. it's kindda slouchy and really comfy ^^
