twisted neckwarmer

et voilà! i just finished this neckwarmer today. it's twisted, so there's no way to make it lay flat perfectly. the charcoal yarn is alpaca and wool, it's really light, but really fluffly and warm at the same time. as for the black thread, it's waxed cotton cord. there are mostly 3 different gages of knit that i used for this project. i had rolled the neckwarmer twice before putting it on, but i could have easily done it 3 times to have a warmer and tighter feeling.

i had this idea when i was in nyc, had sketched it quickly in a little café in soho(café ceci cela, i love that place!). i first wanted to use strings of leather (instead of the waxed cord) but i wasn't sure exactly of how i was gonna obtain the result i wanted, so i prefered using a cheaper material for the first experiment. although, i have to say that the cord truly looks good and not out of place at all. i also decided to leave a few strings of yarn and cord hanging here and there.
